What can you expect from Pioneer Steel buildings?

Rugged and Durable

Pioneer Steel buildings outlast and has outperformed the industry standards for nearly three decades. Pioneer Steel buildings are strong enough to weather the impact of heavy rains, winds, snow, hurricane, ice, hailstorm, and even earthquakes as they are made from AZ180 (AZ60) Galvalume Plus.

This coated steel sheet contains a unique zinc-aluminum alloy that contributes much to its corrosion resistance and heat reflectivity. It also offers a 30-year warranty against corrosion.

Pioneer Steel Building Maintenance-Free

A Pioneer steel building is maintenance-free. You won’t need to repaint ever. It won’t split, rust, warp, or crack. Interestingly, they are 100% recyclable. Pioneer pre-engineered steel buildings use Canadian manufactured steel which has 25-95% total recycled content.

Easy to construct

All Pioneer Steel buildings are designed for easy-do-it-yourself construction, requiring minimal bolts all throughout the construction. It also uses easy-to-install insulation pins, self-adhesive caulking strips, and pre-drilled base plates.

The company boasts that over three-fourths of its customers do the erection job all by themselves in just a few days. Special tools and skills are unnecessary. Less labor is also required. Great endless building possibilities.

Below are just some of the basic tools you need:

  • 1/2″ and 9/16″ wrenches
  • Scaffolding, stepladders, and rope
  • Hard hats and work gloves
  • Extension ladders and/or rope ladders
  • Electric impact wrench with 1/2″ hex or 9/16″ square sockets
  • Electric drill, variable speed with 3/8″ bits for sheet steel
  • Tape measures, 50 or 100 ft. and 10 ft.

The Pioneer Steel’s standard panels can be handled easily as they only measure about 2 x 10 and weigh 40lbs on average. Pioneer pole buildings are delivered to the construction site in a kit form and come with easy-to-understand assembly manuals.

Optimal space available

Pioneer Steel buildings’ steel arch style maximizes the space available in your property as the interior is clear span and requires no truss, no beam, and no post in construction. This alone could save up the overall project costs and ensure easy conventional insulation solutions.

Pioneer Steel customers also recognize the convenience in accessing the electrical wiring, drywall, plumbing systems, partitions, false ceilings, and heating and air-conditioning ducts.

Versatile designs

Pioneer Steel buildings are versatile. The complexity of the designs is not an issue. It offers endless building possibilities. Whether it’s a traditional Quonset building or a straight-sided peaked roof building. They can also be designed as either permanent or portable structures as they are easily constructed.

Adding more arches to the steel building for extra length is not a problem at all. The use of a single nut and bolt system to fasten together with standard-sized panels throughout the building process make this possible.

Pioneer Steel buildings have a wide selection of end walls to suit your needs. Whether it’s for complementing existing structures or extending your building, Pioneer Steel makes it more convenient for you.

Affordable

Pioneer steel buildings outlast most construction forms, and longer life means lower cost. Pioneer Steel buildings are uniquely designed to require less labor in the manufacturing and construction of the foundation. Its pre-engineered base connector connects its building to your foundation, saving time and money.

What is Galvalume Plus?

Galvalume Plus, a galvanized coated steel with aluminum-zinc is manufactured by ArcelorMittal. Its corrosion and heat resistance capacities are similar to galvanized coated steel and their prices, too, are quite the same. Galvalume Plus, however, offers more advantages compared to galvanized steel at no additional cost.

They are as follows:

  • Galvalume Plus’ corrosion resistance is at least twice that of traditional galvanized coating with the same coating thickness in most atmospheric environments. An exposure study by Bethlehem Steel found that Galvalume Plus coated steel outperformed galvanized by four times in a severe marine environment, six times in industrial environments and thrice in rural conditions.
  • Lower energy load on buildings and enhanced interior comfort results to Galvalume Plus having a more outstanding heat reflectivity in an operating temperature up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. Within this temperature range, you can expect a building which is cooler inside during summer.
  • Galvalume Plus has a higher temperature resistance than galvanized steel. Steel coated with this material shows no discoloration up to 600 degrees Fahrenheit. Some form of discoloration and roughening may appear above this temperature, but it doesn’t reduce Galvalume Plus’s resistance to rust. Its resistance to rust is maintained up to 1,250 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Galvalume Plus complements with almost all the recommended paints for galvanized steel. Just make sure the surface is dry and free of contaminants such as oil, grease, dirt, and dust. It doesn’t require any weathering period.

What are the different roofing options?

Pioneer Steel offers five types of roofing on their preengineered steel buildings. You can choose from the following:

Standing seam metal roof

Standing seam metal roofs are made of hot-dipped galvanized, or Galvalume Plus steel sheets. They are available in five color options. They offer the elegance and durability of conventional shingled roofs without compromising durability. Withstood winds up to 120 miles per hour, standing seam roofs can last for decades even under unfriendly environmental conditions.

They are the most popular choice among steel building owners because of their low maintenance cost, durability and appealing architectural designs.

Built Up Roofing

Built up roofing consists of asphalt saturated felt in two or more layers. Built up roofs come in seven colors to match Pioneer pre-engineered steel buildings’ exterior color options.

Built up roofs are the cheapest among both standing seam and shingled metal roof choices. They are a good alternative to traditional asphalt shingle roofs for those living in high wind areas prone to hurricanes and tornadoes.

Corrugated steel panel roof

Corrugated steel panel roofs are composed of hot-dip galvanized steel. They come in 3 colors. This type is great for extremely high wind areas or when additional height is required to meet building codes.

Trussbrite arch system

This is the only metal building roof system that offers trussless arch construction.

It has 12 colors to choose from. It provides a high degree of architectural appeal and eliminates problems with insulation accumulation under roofs’ steel decking, as well as the need for eaves troughs as drain lines. Trussbrite offer significant energy savings through its advanced design and insulation properties.

Custom standing seam package

This includes the trim and fascia work or any combination of those options. All roof and side wall options come with a (2) year warranty.

What types of metal buildings does Pioneer Steel offer?

It offers two distinctive styles: Trussless and truss-framed. Each style has its own benefits and applications.

Trussless Buildings

This type of Pioneer Steel buildings does not require floor joists. It can be built on a concrete pad or directly to the ground. It is made of hot-dipped galvanized steel, which makes it durable and strong enough to withstand high winds and heavy snow loads. This type of building has a life span of 40 years or more under appropriate conditions.

This type of Pioneer Steel buildings also needs a concrete pad or a foundation base to sit on. Its roof is also made of galvanized steel, which makes it a good insulator, resist fire and termite damage, and increases its lifespan.

Truss-framed Buildings

A Pioneer Steel building requires floor joists like any other conventional building because it has roof trusses. It is considered the more traditional steel buildings and it is very popular with contractors and owners who want a conventional-looking building in their yards.

This is suitable for harsh environments, such as areas that experience 100+ mph wind speed or high snow loads.
